PROJECTS

A selection of residential, retail, and cultural architecture and interior design projects completed by Axis Mundi in New York and beyond — each shaped by material precision, spatial clarity, and a commitment to quiet, considered luxury.

John Beckmann and his team of avant-garde designers are adept at challenging conventions and questioning established norms, recognizing that such endeavors serve as the impetus for cultivating innovative perspectives. This commitment to pushing boundaries gives rise to a milieu of unrestricted experimentation and pioneering design thinking.

Selected work by Axis Mundi, New York.

A portfolio shaped by material precision, spatial clarity, and quiet luxury.

From full apartment renovations and combined residences on the Upper East Side to the interior architecture of landmark buildings like 432 Park Avenue, every project reflects the studio's belief that architecture and interior design are not separate disciplines, but a single continuous act of composition.

Axis Mundi's portfolio includes private residences, retail environments, hospitality spaces, and cultural institutions, including conceptual proposals for a reimagined cathedral in Strasbourg, France, and a redesigned Cape Cod Museum of Art. Each commission is approached with the same process from initial architectural planning and co-op or condo board approvals, through material selection, custom furnishings, and final installation led directly by founder John Beckmann and the Axis Mundi team.
